FAQ's
(Frequently Asked Resort Questions)

Is Breakfast included?
Breakfast is included with every regular priced villa. Long stays do not qualify for the free breakfast. Other than this you are self catering. There are two cafes, a short walk up the street.

Where can I get my laundry done?
Right up the street is a laundry and small mini mart, they do fine work and are reasonably priced. They usually have your garments back the next day, neatly folded. There is also a 7/11 nearby.

Is there a microwave in the room?
At present we do not have microwaves in rooms. But there is one in the lounge.

What type of behavior goes on at Chan Resort?
Nothing but pure relaxation. We encourage our guests to relax and unwind. We do not allow drunk, obnoxious or overt sexual behavior nor are we a "swinger" or "lifestyles" hotel.  We ask our guests to report to us any behavior that is questionable or that makes them feel uncomfortable. We vigorously protect the safety of our guests and violators will be asked to leave -- no kidding. It should be obvious that we are a family resort and not "party central." This is why our guests come back: to relax, enjoy a change of pace, and socialize with others. We have over a 70% repeat rate!

Do you allow day visitors at Chan Resort?
Yes, for the pool and spa we allow day visitors at a very reasonable rate of 500 baht per day which includes a refreshing drink. Just bring your towel.

What is your membership fee?
We do not have a membership fee. The day rate or room rental is all that is necessary for membership. But recognized members of a naturist/nudist (such as ThailandNaturist.com) organization recieve a discount.

Come and enjoy the peace and tranquility of our resort,
you will love that you did!

FANQ's
(Frequently Asked Naturist Questions)

Do members of Thailand Naturist get a discount?
Yes they do, we like to reward people who are committed to the growth of naturism in Thailand.

What is your membership fee?
We do not have a membership fee. The day rate or rental of the room is all that is necessary. Many hotels which require membership are swinger oriented and must have a private club to avoid legal issues and swinger places often masquerade as "clothing optional". Thailand Naturist members do receive a discount.

Do you allow day visitors at Chan Resort?
Yes, we allow day visitors at a very reasonable rate of 500 baht per day which includes a refreshing drink. Please bring your own towel.

Isn’t it illegal to be nude in Thailand?
Yes, in Thailand it is illegal to be nude in public; Chan Resort is a private resort and that settles it. Once you register you are a member of the resort for the time that you are registered.

Is there a naturist organization in Thailand?
There is the Thailand Naturist Association Co.,Ltd. which promotes naturist tourism in Thailand. This organization is open to individual members and resorts. We are a member resort of Thailand Naturist Association.

Where can I be nude?
You can be nude at the pool, the lounge and to and from your room. We would prefer that you when sitting that you use a towel, pakama or sarong between you and what you are sitting on.

What is the difference between a clothing optional resort and nudist resort?
Clothing-optional means just that, optional. People can choose to be nude, partially nude or remain clothed. We like this idea because it allows first timers to "ease" into the idea of total nudity. Many times a couple wants to try a nude vacation, but the wife just wants to go topless at first.

In naturist parlance, the word textilist is used to describe someone who is not a naturist, or the act of not being naturist. e.g., He stayed all week but was textiles all the time. It is also used as an adjective to describe a facility where naturism is not allowed e.g., "the textile beach starts at the flag". Clothing optional and nude optional (US specific) describe a policy or a venue that allows or encourages nudity but tolerates the wearing of clothes. The opposite is clothing compulsory; that is, disallowing nudity, thus requiring the wearing of clothes. Clothes free/clothes-free and clothing free/clothing-free are used as adjectives to describe when naturism is permitted in an otherwise textile environment.

What about sex?
Sex is fine we like it. But we believe it is a private matter and it is not allowed outside of your room, and please close the curtains.

Naturism and equality
Many people say that being nude in groups makes them feel more accepted for their entire being — physical, intellectual and emotional. They say that they tend to be more accepted, in spite of differences in age, body shape, fitness, and health. Without clothing, one's social rank is generally obscured. They report feeling more united with humanity, with less regard to a person's wealth, position, nationality, race, and sex

What surprises many first time visitors about clothing-optional resorts?
It is natural to be a bit self-conscious the first time you venture out nude in front of other people. That is, until you realize you are not surrounded by movie stars and TV model type bodies! We mostly hear people say how surprisingly comfortable they feel once they see other ordinary people all around.

How is Chan Resort different from other clothing optional or nudist places?
Firstly, we are the friendliest naturist family facility in Pattaya or that matter Thailand. Secondly, Chan Resort is clothing optional and does not require you to be nude. This allows folks who want to try the clothing optional experience to ease into it if they wish. And lastly, there are a few "nude" places that tolerate public sex or sex in the hot tub, we are NOT that kind place. We work hard at helping people realize that nude does not mean lewd. So if you've been thinking of having a clothing optional experience in a safe setting, Chan Resort is for you!

How to begin as a first timer.

If this is your first time trying social nudism here are a few suggestions:

If you feel self- conscience try wrapping a towel or pakama, sarong around you. Sit by the pool and relax. When you are ready let your covering slip off and get into the pool. This is much better than trying to get out of street clothes or a swimming suit at the pool.

Our facility is private and "European style" clothing-optional. You are encouraged to soak in our pool au naturel and enjoy this total immersion in nature. For generations Europeans have visited the "spas" and have sunbathed nude. We are now realizing how relaxing this "nude recreation" can be.  Swimsuit optional vacations are now becoming common and we are discovering what our European friends have known all along -- such simple nudity is total freedom. We've designed our place to give "first timers" the best clothes free experience possible. At Chan resort we provide you the coolest vacation souvenir of all: no tan-lines!

What do you mean by "Clothing Optional?"
For years Europeans have had a more self-accepting view of the body than Americans. They understand that simple nudity is just that - simple nudity. Consequently they are not ashamed of going "au naturel" at a resort or beach. We have found once people try it they discover a new found joy. To float, swim, soak or sunbathe without any restrictions is a luxurious and free feeling. At Chan Resort you are welcome to enjoy our facility sans-clothing -- but it is up to you. There is no pressure...after all; you are on vacation or a "holiday!"

We are interested in trying "clothing optional" but we are worried about other people finding out and not understanding. Will our privacy be guarded?
Your privacy is YOUR privacy. We do not give out any personal information about our guests. While you stay with us you'll be with those who, like you, are concerned with privacy. So, rest assured that your visit will be kept confidential. We understand the difficulty that people might have in trying to grasp the purity of simple nudity and sunbathing.

We are not exactly in "perfect shape." Will we be embarrassed by this?
One of the benefits of this simple social nudity is that you realize that others are just like you. We've been brainwashed by TV and media that a body is only beautiful if it looks like a super model. You'll discover that: everybody IS beautiful -- even yours! We all have the "scars of life." Also, strech marks, tattoos, body piercing's, and body hair or lack thereof isn't an issue. Hey, it's just you and me!

What type of people visit Chan Resort?
We have people that come from all walks of life. Our guests represent every profession (from Professors to workers!) and cultural and religious backgrounds. The one common link all have is the desires to relax, de-stress, and rejuvenate in the safe environment that we offer at Chan Resort.

What are the ages of people who visit Chan Resort?
We have people of all ages: 20s to 80s. We also have families as guests. The median age would probably be between 35-65. Once here, guests who were concerned with age realize that their concerns about age were unfounded. Again we are so brainwashed by society to view age differentials with distain. Guests mingle here in a community that forms regardless of age. It is a wonderful natural experience.

What about personal hygiene etiquette in a clothing optional setting?
When being nude at Chan Resort we require that our guests always sit on a towel, pakama, or sarong (either in their room or outside). If it is "that" time of the month our female guests simply wear bottoms or tuck in the string. Men seem to worry about arousal but it typically doesn't happen. If it were, simply go into the pool or lay face down on a towel until things subside, actually it would be rude not to do this.
